Young people's short-term car insurance...HELP!!

Hello there!
I'm wondering if anybody out there in the ether knows of any temporary insurance for under 21s?
I'm looking for something from June to August really, but finding this VERY difficult as I'm a fairly new driver (I'm 19) and I'm not a student until September!
If anybody knows of any policies that insure 'Students' on their parents insurances during holiday periods I'd be very grateful.. or indeed for any fragments of friendly advice!

Ana

About a year ago tempcover.com were advertising that they could now offer short-term insurance from 18 yrs up but they were fairly restrictive on what cars they'd allow iirc.

Who does the car belong to? If it's your parents, why not just add you to their insurance policy?

If you are a learner, you could try Collingwood, as they do short term cover for either 7, 28 or 84 days at a time.

If you have passed your test, I believe that there is someone called Marmalade, or do short term cover, although I may be corrected on that !
  • Endsleigh do short term cover for young students.

Is it your mum/dads car you are borrowing?
You could always ring their insurance company and see if they offer short term insurance.

My mum used to be with Tesco and thats what I used to do when I wanted to borrow the car :) I think it cost me about £80 for 28 days :)
Tesco did have a maximum of 90 days in a year though
Handle every situation like a dog:
If you can't eat it or hump it
Pee on it and walk away
