complete newby to Cash back card

I have bought a new kitchen on a 6 month interest free option. I have the cash in full sitting there to pay for it (due in July to get interest free option which is my intention). I currently use a debit card, no credit cards, store cards or anything else.

Is it worth me applying for a cash back card and use it to pay a lump sum in May, June & July to get cashback? Or should I go for a credit card? Once this is paid for I may not use it again - is there a downside to having one of these cards and only using it for a short time?

Took me a long time to save the money so thought Id have a go at getting something for free from it! ;)

Thank u.

If you currently have the debt on interest free credit you might well find that you are not able to pay off the finance with a credit card.

You'd need to check first whether you can pay it off with a credit card - and if you can what type of transaction your card provider would class it as (purchase / balance transfer / cash advance etc)
