complete newby to Cash back card

I have bought a new kitchen on a 6 month interest free option. I have the cash in full sitting there to pay for it (due in July to get interest free option which is my intention). I currently use a debit card, no credit cards, store cards or anything else.
Is it worth me applying for a cash back card and use it to pay a lump sum in May, June & July to get cashback? Or should I go for a credit card? Once this is paid for I may not use it again - is there a downside to having one of these cards and only using it for a short time?
Took me a long time to save the money so thought Id have a go at getting something for free from it!
Thank u.

If you currently have the debt on interest free credit you might well find that you are not able to pay off the finance with a credit card.
You'd need to check first whether you can pay it off with a credit card - and if you can what type of transaction your card provider would class it as (purchase / balance transfer / cash advance etc)A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0
