  • If an ESA claimant is waitng for their claim to get processed within the first 7 days of the claim. And they have no money to live on, and they phone Crisis Loans and Crisis Loans say "no" .... for whatever reason.....Do they have to wait until day 8 before an Interim Payment can be considered from the BC? The agents guidance on this just says before 7 days refer to CL......after 7 days refer to BC for an IP....... it does not say what to do if CL says "no" within 7 days.
  • Why would an ESA Conts claim taken on April 12th 2012 to start from May 1st 2012 be assessed on contribution tax years ending April 2010 & April 2011 ? And once it was assessed on those years why would it say:
tax year ending April 2010 satisfied
tax year ending April 2011 satisfied
    Overall Not Satisfied

And thus was diallowed, if both years were satisfied how come the overall was not satisfied?

  • Can a self cert sickness for the 1st 7 days of ESA claim be made verbally? If yes.... to whom is it made? And is it not a problem re not having a signature or any call recording.?

  • On ESA PWLL is "under 16 hours, no more than £20".....Is there a £20 disregard on ESA? And why is it "no more than £20"? Surely the more they earn the better. Just disregard the 1st £20 and deduct anything over £20. If they earn over £20 does the claim get closed? If not why did this thing I was reading today say "under 16 hours and no more than £20"

[*]Why does it say to qualify for ESA you must not be in "relevant education" and go on to describe what relevant education is....and describe full time non-advanced college courses, but makes no mention of Advanced Education? i.e. it does not say
*To qualify for ESA you must not be in "relevant education" or in Advanced Education?

    • On a list of benefit rates (published by DWP)
under JSA personal allowances it says:
      Single people £
      Couples £
      Lone Parents £
      Dependant Children £64
why is there a group called "Dependant Children paid £64 ? Is this some historical group (could be referred to as a "grandfather" group i.e. from a previous era) who used to be able to claim, of which, there may be some left over still claiming?

I don't know, hopefully someone else will be able to help but I don't see any harm in you contacting the BC and asking about it.

Because rules state that contributions must've been made in the last two complete tax years before the beginning of the relevant benefit year and the benefit year begins in January.

It may be that you don't satisfy other requirements (see the link above). You should ask the DWP for an explanation as they should be able answer your question.
