I have asked if anyone can help me with this before but one method suggested just didn't work. Can anyone give me a foolproof method that works. Also, I am having problems with login details not being accepted. I have looked at the details in Control Panel re Cookies etc but I must be doing something wrong . Can anyone help please? NB I have raised the subject of ASK before and did respond as much as I could so I do apologise to the person who tried to help me.

Did you try any of these before, choose the method for the version of Windows you are using. The toolbar utility in blue at the bottom should be clickable to download and run that
How do I uninstall the Toolbar?
You can easily uninstall the Toolbar using the instructions below:
Windows XP:- Close all open Web browsers
- From the "Start" menu in Windows, select "Control Panel"
- Select "Add/Remove Programs"
- Select the program with the Ask logo and the text "Ask Toolbar" (or our partner’s brand for a custom Toolbar)
- Click "Change/Remove"
Windows Vista:- Close all open Web browsers
- From the "Start" menu in Windows, select "Control Panel". Under the "Programs" icon, select "Uninstall a program"
- Select the program with the Ask logo and the text "Ask Toolbar" (or our partner’s brand for a custom Toolbar)
- Click "Uninstall" and then "Continue" to remove the Toolbar
Windows 7:- From your computer's 'Start' button, select 'Control Panel'
- Click the "Uninstall a Program" option found under the "Programs" category
- Select the program with the Ask logo and the text "Ask Toolbar" (or our partner's brand for a custom Toolbar)
- Click 'Remove'
You can also uninstall the toolbar directly from the toolbar- Click on the chevron (down arrow) on the Option button on the toolbar
- Select "Uninstall" from the drop down menu
- Click "Yes" when asked "Are you sure you want to uninstall this product"
- Close all open web browsers
- Click "OK" on the popup window
We ask that once you have uninstalled the Ask Toolbar that you reboot your computer to ensure that the uninstall process is complete.
If you get an error message during the uninstall process or after rebooting your system you still see the toolbar, please run this application to clean up the toolbar: ToolbarUtilityTool.exe
When you install most things now, choosing custom install can help avoid installing unwanted things as most can be deselected0 -
santer, Thank you for the instructions (for Vista) but they did not work. I do get an error message i.e. 1730 with "you must be an administrator to remove this location". You can logon as an administrator or contact your technical support group. I am now going to try the instructions in the post above.0
