    Hi,

On what grounds would they NOT agree refund the money so easily??

A mate of mine wasn't so lucky with e-Van! They said they hadn't received his no claims confirmation in time. When he complained, they cancelled his policy and charged him a "cancellation fee". He had to pay the full rate for the time he had been insured by them!

    Hi Trukdiver

    That's awful :o(

I think I am ok, I signed up with them on 6/7/11 and then was sent letter in the post with pre-paid envelope to send them my no claims bonus confirmation. I then phoned previous insurer to ask them for this, which too time to get and then when I got it I posted it off and they date stamped it as received on 15/8/11.

If they acknowleged it, then it's obviously their fault that they were charging too much. No wonder they agreed to a refund so easily. They "should" refund the excess straight away and pay you interest as well. Keep chasing them - it's in their interest that they keep you happy and renew (whether you intend to or not)

As for the eVan thing, he went for the one that was cheapest in the price comparison site. If he'd done a bit of checking, he would have found that eVan/eCar/eBike/eHome are notorious for "not receiving" documents and then charging exhorbitant admin fees.

Perhaps since you have it back, keep it in an account and when it comes time to renew your policy/get a new policy, pay upfront for the year and get it cheaper? ;)
You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride
