How did you find Kiln park ?
    I'm going in September.

We went to Bidiford Bay in 2000 nice site didn't do the entertainment we used it as base only.

We stayed at Burnham on Sea in 2007, so a while ago now. I was quite impressed as I wasn't really expecting much from a Sun holiday.

Again caravan was nice and clean, the site was nice but we didn't really use any of the facilities as we didn't have kids then, but it all seemed very pleasant from what we saw. Walkable into Burnham on Sea on a path close to the sea, though I can't remember much being there - perhaps a few take aways and a Wetherspoons.

Nice base to explore Somerset, we went to Street, Cheddar, Minehead, Dunster and Weston Super Mare as far as I can remember.

We're going to Kiln park this weekend, I'll let you know how it is.

I should have said yesterday that the area around New Quay (Wales) is not exactly a hot-bed of activity but it is very pretty and pleasant with a beautiful coastline.

Haven Caister put me off holidaying in the UK for 3 years.

It brings a whole new dimension to the word dire.

I've just come back from my first UK holiday since (Hendra in Newquay) and it was like a different world. Haven must work really hard to get their parks to be so bad.

We went to Haven Perran Sands and it was horrendous. We actually had to pay a deposit to get bed linen, as if we might steal it otherwise! Our chalet was a dive and I had to turn the mattress over so the worst stains were on the bottom.

Parkdean Crantock Beach and Newquay were lovely though, with very decent clean caravans.

Haven, Butlins and British Holidays are all under the same ownership. Some of their parks are still crap because they bought Haven and Butlins from Rank Holidays and whilst selling off about 50 parks to compensate for the shortfall in their borrowing and available capital they still haven't updated all the shabby parks. So it's still a hit or a miss.

Parkdean bought their own parks back about 6 years ago and the same thing goes; they're modernising slowly and a lot of the parks are still outdated and shabby.

Tenby is great, so many things to do...costal path, water sports, beach, Folly Farm, Dinosaur Park, Anna Ryder Richardsons Manor House Wild Life Park, Oakwood theme park the list goes on and on.

If your holidaying in West Wales id recommend a Haven site which you dont have listed Lydstep Beach. Stunning park with a listed manor house club with indoor pool, park, private beach, rock climbing wall etc and I would book privately as you get a much better deal try www.lydstepcaravanhire.co.uk

Id definately recommend this park over Kiln Park!
