My partner has a £10k limit with Egg. I applied online for a £2K increase and have received the following email response:
"We have been trying to contact you regarding your recent request.
We’d really like to speak to you to ensure that we find the best possible solution to meet your needs. Please call us on 0845 366 0600 to discuss the options we have to offer.
Best wishes
Egg Banking plc "
What options? A simple yes or no would suffice. Do you think they may ask about stoozing?

My guess is they have a pre-set limit that they'll increase your credit limit to without question, and you've requested an increase that would take your limit above that, so they're having to do an assessment. That's my guess.
Either that or they're trying to flog you a loan

Why not 'go in another way' [i.e. phone them up innocently, and see if you can arrange your increase with the first person you talk to]?
Egg's main number is 0845 1233233

Could I move some money around without increasing the limit.
We have 2k balance on a limit of 4.7K on the sainsburys card we use for purchases. Obviously this limit is gonna be reached with 6 months to spare of the sainsburys 0% offer.
Could I transfer the sainsburys balance to the egg card and them SBT to my current acount, bearing in mind we have already SBT'd the current 10K limit.
Many thanks0 -
Unless I have misunderstood this, you have used a Sainsburys card for purchases and have built up a debt there but would like to add to this?..Could I move some money around without increasing the limit.

... that would mean borrowing from Egg to pay Sainsburys off then?..Could I transfer the sainsburys balance to the egg card
The only problem being that you are already on credit limit with Egg. The solution is to get a larger credit limit from Egg first....and them SBT to my current acount, bearing in mind we have already SBT'd the current 10K limit.
Also be aware that unless this is a new Egg card we are talking about balance transfers can only be made at 0% during month one [in 'anniversary' offers]. By all means look into getting a credit limit increase from Egg to pay Sainsburys but do think about were both balances will go to at the end of the period before too long bearing in mind that you are actually spending on one of these cards as I understand......under construction....
