So he's had his medical assesment and has passed ?
Can he answer all the questions in the above post "no" aswell? If so, he will be on ESA IR for as long as it takes to get him into work, he will have regular medicals to continually extend his ESA.
They had their medical assessment at the end of last year but they never had any word about it so they do not know if they passes or failed it. How often are "regular medicals"?Do you have a partner?
If you do have a partner do they work?
Do you have more than £6,000 inc partners (if any) money?
Do you get any pension?
They are married but their significant other does not work as they are their carer. They do not have £6,000. They do not get any pension and they are not pension age yet!0 -

It is extremely common not to be notified of the outcome of an assessment (WCA) by the DWP. Indeed some letters that they regard as informing of the decision actually doesn't at all either. If they had face to face medical at end last year then almost certainly a decision will have been taken shortly afterwards. The payments to bank account are often a good indicator of what decision was taken and when... it is sad that you can find out more about your benefits often from Barclays than the DWP. But calling the DWP at number at top of ESA letters should confirm the outcome. Additionally would suggest requesting copy of ESA85 which is the ATOS medical report resulting from that face to face medical... if any other evidence was used to make the decision at DWP then I'd request copy of that too but there is good chance the ESA85 was as good as rubber stamped by DWP.
Regular reassessment? Typically between 6 months and a couple years for most claimants. If in WRAG I would expect most commonly 6-12 months. The prognosis in the ESA85 will almost certainly indicate the likely timing of the next reassessment.
ETA. Sorry not quite with it lately. Seems he has been placed in WRAG... that's what the letter says... at a guess for 6 or 12 months."Do not attribute to conspiracy what can adequately be explained by incompetence" - rogerblack0 -

I will tell them what you have said and how they should request an ESA85. Is an ESA85 valid to Northern Ireland applicants?0 -
No problem then, all you have to do is phone and ask if it is automatic or do they have to ask you any questions in order to get you onto ESA IR....
I would assume automatic but you should check
Thanks, I'll give them a call in next few days to be on safe side. It does state on the letter that my Icome related ESA may not be paid in same amount as my current benefit. That they will send a letter explaining this when my CB ESA ends and if I wanted to know more to contact them. Its a bit confusing as it seems like they are just changing me over but since my circumstances haven't changed I can't see how it would differ.0 -
They requested the documentation and after 2 weeks it still hasn't arrived so today they telephoned again. The male they spoke to said he would send them out the ESA85 tomorrow and that they should have it for the weekend. He also said that the ESA forms would be sent out to them again in August which in his opinion was a very short time.0

So at a calculated guess might have been placed in WRAG for 9 months. All very confusing with him not apparently ever getting notification of decision. In all likelihood the decision will have been taken at DWP within a couple of weeks of the ATOS face to face medical late last year. The letter sent and described at the start of the thread does indeed seem to be full of the misleading... a very common problem. Sounds like he'll be reassessed in the autumn.. the form in question being another ESA50."Do not attribute to conspiracy what can adequately be explained by incompetence" - rogerblack0 -

The ESA85 still hasn't arrived despite their promises again. Phoning about them tomorrow again!0
