changed my estimate to higher income yet payments r higher?

had problems with my tax credits since new tax year. i understood it was due to the disregard of 10000 as i earned 5000 last year n estimated 14000 but then the disregard got took into account but I've now estimated 24000 due to going bk to work full time yet my payment has went up again? don't understand and just don't want an overpayment. really can't work it out

Do you mean you estimated £14,000 for the 2011/12 tax year but earned £5,000? In that case you've have an underpayment, not overpayment. Or do you mean you earned £5000 year before?

I answered your initial post on this.

Your income for 11/12 (6 April 2011-6 April 2012) was £5000 (wasn't it because of maternity leave?) is that right?

And you told them your income for 12/13 was estimated at £14,000. You then rang up and changed that estimate to £24,000.

If that is correct then you shouldn't have had an increase in payments. You need to get some advice and get your award checked as that certainly doesn't sound right.

  • my earnings for 11/12 was 5000 then i estimated 14000 for 12/13 but then increased it to 24000 for 12/13.

Yeh ice queen u gave me advice before which i felt correct and agreed with. changed it to 24000 but my payment yesterday was slightly higher again than usual. really don't understand unless they didnt actually change my estimate after telling me that was it done. not had my award letter yet. its like im going round in circles. everytimei think its sorted something goes wrong just trying to avoid a huge overpayment

have you done your renewal?could it be that they go on last years earnings in yourcase £5000?

did you receive an underpayment lump sum?or culd they have added it on to this years award?
  • not done my renewal yet. not had it so don't think they could have added it without my renewal. Will hopefully b expecting some underpayment tho. still waiting in letter to see if can make any sense of it
