Gas Consumtion

Hiya.

Is there anywhere I can estimate what our gas usage should be by putting in how many hours a day we have the heating on and how many showers etc we take? We are consuming a lot and I didn't know if it was average, or if we need to intervene and take measures to reduce it.

I have googled it, but I keep getting American petrol (gas) consumption calculators come up.

I am afraid it is not quite as simple as that. Gas usage depends on more than how many hours it is on for.

How cold it is outside is one factor as is how well insulated your property is and how efficient is your boiler.

The average usage per annum is reckoned to be about 16500kwh but of course you use more in winter than summer.

You say you are using a lot, what do you call a lot. For example in the depth of winter we use about 600kwh per week, and last week (still cold) we used 372kwh.:eek:
