Lloyds Credit Card PPI Claim - Don't know where to start!!

Hello,

I'm hoping somebody might be able to help.

I have had a credit card with Lloyds since 2008 and up until about a year and a half ago, was paying PPI on it. I never realised I had it until I actually looked at a statemeny (previously, I was naughty and binned them without looking!! Head in the sand completely!!)

Anyway, once I saw it, I called up and cancelled as there was no point me ever having it!

Since then, I have successfully claimed on PPI from my Lloyds loan - it was sorted within 8 weeks all from one phone call directly to them!

But with my credit card, will it be the same? I have about 4 paper statements from the past 4 years!! So I'm unable to check amounts etc...

Do we think it would be worth me calling them and just explaining the situation?

Or would it be wise for me to apply for a SAR to get the details?

HELP!!

If you have an account number, I would just write to Lloyds (so you have a copy) and explain the reasons as to why you feel you were missold and just quote your account number. If an offer is made they will need to provide a break down of how they have come to the figure they are offering.

    Hope this helps : )

    Hi

    Good luck on your reclaiming.

I have been successful with all loan and credit card ppi (lloyds), but just to let you know that I did find that the loan ppi was easier to reclaim than that of credit card ppi.

This was because (in my own case), when the credit card ppi was sold to me, I was then a homemaker, raising children.

They wrote back and said even if the policy did not cover me for unemployment, I still benefitted for the other benefits, such as life cover, hospitalisation, job solutions etc.
So I wrote back and said, I didn't think it was fair that I was paying for a ppi that I did not fully benefit of in the first place, with that they did finally uphold it.

So whatever your reasons are, and if they are similar to mine, you need to make it clear that the policy is/were worthless to you, because it did not FULLY protect you etc..

However, this was some time ago now, and they did not then uphold so many reclaims, it may be a different case now since the FSA been on their backs.

    Good luck.

Hi I also have had a PPI missold on my LLoyds credit card, I have checked the conditions few months back and found out I wasnt entitled to cover in case of loosing my job as was not at the time in my job for long enough. So not being able to Fully covered I decided to send LLoyds PPI-consumer-questionnaire from their website and after about two months they have replied with a letter offering a refund of all PPI premiums paid (inclusive of interest) plus interest at 8% for a period where my account was in credit, and that in total was £107.41.
Somehow it doesnt feel right to me, I wasnt claiming for a refund but for a compensation which is a completely different thing, isn't it?
I have started my work in august 2008 and was given a credit card on april the next year and have had a PPI cover till now.
Here goes the question for all you experienced people on this field from the forum, should I go for the regulator now or what? Or am I not entitled for any more money from all of those billions dedicated by Lloyds to the claimants?
