Hello
I don't know if anyone can help me. Back in January I submitted a claim for Industrial Injuries Disablement Benefit as I had a fall at work and have damaged my back. Apart from a couple of letters very early on in the claim I haven't heard a thing and it is now 3 months later.
I know they said it could take a while to collect all the information but is this normal?
Thanks in advance

I don't know if this is 'normal' but on the form it says that you need to tell them of any dates that you can't attend a medical (if needed) within the next 6 months so it obviously is expected to take some time.
I presume they have to collect evidence etc etc and then it goes to a decision maker who might ask for a medical.
Since they need to collect the evidence it is possible that there is a 'hold up'.
To be honest I would telephone them and ask what 'stage' they are at. It is possible that they are waiting for some information but no one has 'followed it up'.
No harm in chivvying them along. Good luck!0 -
