After reading someone on this thread suggest writing to customer services regarding faulty/non-working scanners, I took the initiative to do so...and got this reply:

My name is ??? and I’m a Customer Service Manager. I’d like to thank you for your email and I apologise for the delay in my response.

I’m very sorry that the Price Check scanners have not been working properly in our ??? store recently. I understand how disappointing this must’ve been for you.

Therefore, I’ve discussed your complaint with ???, the Duty Manager in our ??? store who has asked me to pass on her apologies for this happening as well.

??? has advised me that the scanners have been fully removed from our store due to regular vandalism on the units by customers and accidental damage caused by our staff members. Abbey has also advised me that our store won’t be getting them replaced for this reason too. Therefore, if you would like to check the price of an item, ask any member of staff and they’d be more than happy to help you.

Finally, I’m really sorry that we’ve let you down but thank you for bringing this matter to my attention and if you have any further queries, please don’t hesitate to email me back.

Well, I visited the store today and the 2 scanners are still there, still not working! Not fully removed as advised above. Complete and utter fob off if you ask me. My store always had two scanners, one worked all the time, no issues, then they moved it to another part of the store and is not plugged in. The other scanner has never worked, but has a digital display..very strange  I truly believe, especially after reading so many others on this thread, that T's are simply not having working scanners down to us 'glitchers'!

However, was very much cheered up as someone had kindly re-stocked the 4p socks again...the only kind thing to do, was buy them all of course...perhaps they can put the 4p in the scanner meters? :rotfl:

Has suggestion for Mr T's box.

" [STRIKE]Should we be caught trying to rip you off again[/STRIKE]. In the [STRIKE]likely[/STRIKE] unlikely event that you are overcharged by a single penny."

"We (Tesco PLC) promise to give you double the difference and your money back NO [STRIKE]quibble/harassment /intimidation / embarrassment /unduly keeping customer waiting for 1/2 hour whilst trying to come up with an excuse to wriggle out of it[/STRIKE] question".

"We also undertake to retrain every single employee who works on customer service or front line, to remember who the customer is and how a customer should be treated".

Sky poker will let you win bit, then turn against you leaving you clicking the "add funds button".

You cannot beat a machine with an infinite deck.

Re the £10 free bet, would split, £5 on West Ham to beat Cardiff.

Blackburn have to beat Wigan tonight to stay in the Premiership.

Wigan are also catch-able so will be needing 3 points to avoid the drop. Should Bolton win their last match.

Pair that scenario with a wet slippery pitch, should be a dirty game and my bet would be on bookings.

Worth looking @ the T&C's to see if that free bet is actually withdrawable ?

    Best of luck.

Thanks for the tips, it would seem like I can only place the whole £10 on one bet so have went for West Ham, if they win I will get the princely sum of £6.15. :D If its free - I like it!
