Morning, just going to get dressed and see what is going on up the road. We live in a cul-de-sac and there is quite a lot of police activity at the top - rather worrying at this time in the morning.
    :eek::eek: hope all is alright.
I had to get at 4am last night & then sat in the garden to have a smoke when 'youth' screaming & shouting broke the silence :eek: They should be in bed!

We live not far from Northolt airport and the last few days have been hearing planes going over all times of the day and night and just realised why after looking on the BBC website:oNow everytime we hear it we're running out to have a look, they are amazing:T

Royal Air Force Typhoon jets have arrived at an airbase in London for a large-scale Olympic security exercise.

The aircraft will be based at RAF Northolt, taking part in eight days of training over London and the home counties until 10 May, as part of operation Exercise Olympic Guardian.

It is the first time fighter jets have been stationed at the west London site since WWII

Thats the road we drive down to get to T's:eek::eek::eek::eek:

They have been flying over our house most times we have only been able to hear them as the clouds have been to low. There is an open day think it's Thursday. Getting geared up for the olympics
I say "THANKS" to posts that make me smile - Oh and really good glitches.:j

    Morning all.

My husband spent 26 years in the RAF and we lived at many of the UK airbases. 3 sons all brought up in the RAF way of life. Hangars were great for the kids xmas parties but all forces children grew up with a very warped view of santa as he always came to see them either in a helicopter or on a fire engine!! Not a reindeer or sleigh insight.

:) We lived next door to Gatwick Airport when we were children. Access into the Airport wasn't an issue in the 60's. We regularly played in the Laker Airways hangar & Freddie Laker had a Rickshaw stored in there :):D

    I bet  .

What happened to plans to create a cycle path around Britain so people could use it without getting into life threatening scrapes like you had above .

Is it ongoing or scrapped ?

1 guess , answers on a postcard please to the DVLA .

I should imagine they will never bother. Now, cycling in Holland is another thing altogether, the cycle paths that we went on were actually separated from the road and wide enough for two bikes to pass - that was heaven!!

Your showing your age How small was what ????

The Cockpit of course :o !! As for my age - that was more than 30 years ago!! And I am still only 16 (that's what I tell my 25 and 22 year old kids anyway!_

Ooooh - that was my first multiquote :T

Just got back from visiting Mr T, they extended the offer on the phones I wanted, at this rate I might have to pay for some . does anyone know if they are doing the clubcard voucher double up soon (well you don't think I would use money do you!).

On the upside, I finally got some vegetable crisps, there was two clipstrips of them. I only took 12 so if somebody wants some I left some behind, it was the S++ndh++rst Extra.

I've never cycled in Holland but I was amazed at some of the traffic solution systems they have in place .
The pedestrian right of way over traffic , the urging of drivers and pedestrains alike to make eye contact with one another , the low low speed limits in housing areas etc .
Some might not work but hats off to them for trying ...at the very least they tried .
Nice place for a coffee as well .

Tenth Anniversary Combo Breaker Xmas Saver!
    Good morning

    Happy birthday Mr Lala

bcw123 my DS had his facebook account set up by my late DH, I only agreed because he set it up to be untracable and unlikely to be friended by anyone other than family. DH made him promise that he would ask us before accepting or asking someone to be his friend. He is only allowed to be on it when I'm sitting beside him but most of the time he doesn't bother with it, in fact it's been months since he was last on.
I also can go onto it to see what's going on there and he tells me if he's having bother with anyone but so far it's been someone from his class who was bullying someone else but the child wouldn't tell their mum or dad about it so I brought it to the teachers attention and she contacted the parents of both children and it's now sorted.

Good bank holiday Monday all!! :)

So full of cold that I'm going to spend it wrapped up inside. Boring!!

On the plus side today is my first day of "livebelow" where you only spend £1 a day on food for a week to see what it's like below the poverty line
Part of me feels like this is too easy with whoopsies and freebies so I think I'll take an ignorant approach an pretend that way of surviving doesn't exist!
Daren't go to t this week else I'll break and buy something out of budget!

Hope everyone has a lovely day!!

A tip of the Hat to you .:T
Good luck with this , hunger/poverty are nasty things .
