I just can't keep it going though;I was hoping to upload a piccy, but not managed it - Purdita is on the right track..:T
Tomorrow, we are getting a gorgeous little Tom kitten :T:T
I must admit I am more of a dog person, but the kids and OH are delighted, and any pet will be lovely. Having never had a cat before (OH has though) I am a bit nervous, so busy reading everything possible. Everything is ready, except the food...any advice? Must I keep to the same food his present owners give him at first?
I would deff keep him on the food he is used to, if you're thinking of changing it, start by adding in a little bit to his current food and gradually increase the % from there - otherwsie kit may well have a sore tum
Ideally when you get him, have him confined to one room that is quiet and has all his things in, food, toys, litter tray etc. Then gradually introduce him to the rest of the house a little at a time - that way he should settle quickly and it will be less stressful for him.
i've heard Feliway diffusers are good to aid feline stress levels, you can get them at most pet shops or online.
Oh, and as with the food, use the same litter he's been used to, at least at first. If you want to use a different one, gradually introduce it like the food.
Well, that's the key points I've heard, the youngest cat we've had was 18mths when she moved in with us as a stray - seems our other cat just got on with her being there and they generally ignored each other, no space for slow introductions, she got fed what was on offer (better than what she was getting on the street) and when we moved she stayed in for all of 24hrs before demanding to go out - thankfully it was snowy so there was no way she was going to go far. However, we must have done something right along the way. When we first took her in you couldn't even pick her up, now she's deff a lap cat and wants cuddles - when she wants them that is :rotfl:You are right!! (And I am blonde)
We went to Florida a few years ago and on the flight, we were sat next to a couple who we found out were on the same flights as us to a quite unknown island south of China the year before! While in Florida, we met a girl I went to school with, someone from the same village as me and a lad DH used to work with!
I was away on business not so long ago in Ireland, having dinner in a local pub, talking about a place in Minneapolis where the company we were visiting had a site my boss had visited the week before....when the girl the table next to us leaned over and said, "excuse me are you talking about XXX in Minneapolis?", "yes" we said "I live there" said she  Turns out her boyf (whom she was sitting with) was over in Ireland working, and she'd come on a short break to see him. Well I went for my walk today but the pics were pretty naff to be honest. No masterpieces for me today
The bluebells are rather disappointing this year too. Perhaps the weather has something to do with that. The spring was very warm last year so perhaps that helped.
I'll have another look through them and perhaps put one or two up. I did however put my hand in my pocket and coax this fellah and his mate down onto my hand. They just sat there happily eating.
Its interesting trying to hold your arm out and hold the camera though!0 -

Managed some 4p socks today, in an odd store I don't normally go to. None in any of my usual haunts. Shame they are the smaller size and not meant for my size 12 feet. Picked them all up anyways and tried one on and they fit, so don't need to give them away!
Also found some of the "I think thats cool" USB plasma balls for 32p and a hacky sack/kickball toy that makes a noise for £1. They will do for presents for youngest birthday party.0 -
