DH has said that he will cook the dinner tonight:THe has insisted on BBQ (Probably because that's all he can cook, DS has already been summoned to prepare the salad;)) I have told him all day that it's not a good idea but because the bbq is under cover he thought he'd be fine.We just had a torrential downpour and I looked outside to find this and no sign of DH:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:569003767_o.jpg

He must have taken cover quite speedily because I've just noticed his tin of Carling is still on the BBQ!!!!

    afternoon everyone!:)

Meant to be working on my ou assignment but woke up with a nasty cold and sore throat for the 100th time this year on friday which still seems to want to stay!:(

Felt really poorly yesterday and missed a T's trip with my parents who spent £100 with savings of only £10!:eek::eek:

They've got so much to learn! Some of the stuff they bought was glitching a while back and they didn't stock up!:mad:

And when I tell them some of your T's stories they don't believe me! Even with your proof!:o

Celebrate and Karlie-Please can you tell me what I can do and why I keep falling ill with colds nearly every month or two months! I've tried honey lemon water, lozenges, millions of different types of vaporub, vapour steam, ginger tea and can't really see a difference. What frustrates me is that it takes so long to go and messes up with work, ou and other stuff like T's!

I know I'm not an especially healthy person but when I've been to the docs about this they just shrug their shoulders and say it happens to loads of adults!

    p.s. sorry for the rant:o

I was very strong until 3 years ago. When i had cold or flu it would have gone in couple of hours. But 3 years ago we had to have the swine flu jab and after that i do get cold constantly and it makes feel like I am dying each time. I think that jab made my body weaker. I wish i could turn the clock back now:(

We had really bad colds just beofre Christmas, one virus after another laid us low and I even lost my voice which of course everyone thought was hilarious :(

Since then we have been taking vitamin c and zince tablets which you dissolve in water and it gives a foul orange fizzy drink. But we have not had colds of any sort since

If you go to Sainsburys you get 3 tubes for £1.60 each and its always 3 for 2 so its very good value. Make sure you get vit c and zinc effervense tables - not just the vitamin c ones.

(Dont go to Boots, so many versions and varieties its too confusing)

I've been taking high dose Vit C for a number of years now and very rarely get colds/flu etc and haven't had a day off sick in about 7/8 years..

I got my latest batch in Boots (always on 3 for 2) when the re-energise shots were glitching....see here # 403 :D

also got my beloved Ricola too altho not pictured!!

My local has HP paper for £2.97 a pack.

Thanks, though it seems a bit expensive :eek::eek::eek:

I used to get the the tesco brand one 500 sheets for £2.38 however on a recent trip to asda found one the same price but the paper quality was slightly better:cool::cool:

Was hoping you savvy shoppers would be able to beat £2.38 :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

To the poster who gets lots of colds:

It might sound a bit strange, but I work in a shop on till serving customers all the time and would often come down with colds I've caught from them until I started becoming fastidious about washing my hands (not in an ocd way) after going to the loo (properly, not just a quick rinse;)), after my shift and when I got home from work or shopping and especially before I ate anything. I used wipes in the car if I was eating a snack and I can say that in the last 12 months I've had 2 colds. One DS1 brought home from uni and the other was just a mild sniffle for a few days.

I was a bit sceptical about this but have definately noticed the difference.

I have to agree here. I have had 1 small cold this winter. I wash my hands alot when I have been out shopping etc.

Sorry to bump my own post, but price checks just in and it worked last day of coupon so going to stock up at £6 a box.:T

I'm so pleased you did! At 315 I had a chance to dash to two tescos! First out of stock, second just 4 boxes. Thank you v much. I'm counting the months until we can have a bash at potty training!!!!

They had to print my receipts out again as machine chewed them up! Fingers crossed it works!

This week has been a strange one. Hearing about the choc glitch, dashing out at 1030 pm to try my two tescos and came back with nought! V disheartened, but what a buzz the thrill of the chase. The following morning I was mrs organised managing to find 10 mins between nursery drop off and work to try again and voila! They only stocked mars, but thankful for finding it and saving some pennies.

We don't normally buy sweets or ice creams and puds, but my freezer was chokka full of the things and my goodness they are scrummy! My daughter had a sleepover and the girls enjoyed packets of 1p sweet thanks to Elite. She said to her friends about it and they looked at her as though she was bonkers!!!

I have also had a great time with the soap too. I worked out how many I needed to last a year, tomorrow is my last shop and mission will be complete. The strange thing is I've told people about this, but they don't do it?! Maybe they can't believe it?

I can't stop thinking about it. The pleasure I'm having making amazing meals from whoopsie food is just brilliant, and all the family are loving it.

I thought cutting back was going to be boring, but I've found a new hobby. Life will never be the same again!!

It does take work and time, maybe that's what does put some people off?

Thank you all of you, whether it be bargain info or just your chatter - I'm loving it!:T:T:T

  • Hi all,

Just a quick one....someone (sorry can't remember who) was asking if the WHS giftcard with greeting card offer is still on. Well I went in to my local today to buy stamps and the offer was still on and being advertised. It did say giftcards couldn't be used to purchase them but I managed to (only 3 as I'm a wimp :o!!)
Erm I'm not sure if I've got the hang of this money saving.....I seem to be spending more money buying 'bargains' that I don't really need - oops!! :)
