French_Knickers wrote: »Had an interesting one tonight in sainsbobs. Had 4 hand washes and was gonna do them in pairs through SS and had a few 10p whoopsies.
Turns up and SS tills are now off as its not far off closing. Heck I thought, might as well go to that young lad over there. He beeped all my stuff and then started beeping the coupons....after 3 he suddenly looked shocked and I clocked the screen, it was gonna leave a negative balance!!!
He started looking around for someone to ask about this so I quickly said to the couple behind me in the Queue, "excuse me, can I just borrow these" and picked up their can of sainbobs chopped tomatos and handed it to the lad. "here" I said, "scan those!". He looked puzzled but beeped them then he smiled and beeped the coupon.
I paid my 27p, handed back the tomatos and said "here, a pressie from me" and walked off.
Ha ha, brilliant, I can now reveal what happened to me in mr A:-
Young female sa at ss started putting my 6 palmolive coupons through at -£1.28 each, I realised it was going to go negative just as she was putting through the final one and said oh these are only supposed to be £1.00 each but by then my balance was -90p or something so I said to her let's just scan one again, she said ok, so I ended up getting my £1.08 worth of other goods for something like 18p, then she said thanks for that it's been a long day!! LOL!:rotfl:
Oops wheres my manners, good morning everyone!I do try to keep up but sometimes life gets in the way.
I'm just a penny short of a pound. Peace and Love.

Morning everyone
Grim day out therePlans for the day revised yet again - may even manage a trip to T on the way to S.
I know we are all feeling the lack of glitches, but does anyone else think that there are zillions of great opportunities to save on general grocery shopping bills? I have various mocs, price flops, conditional spends, jtd/apg/bm vouchers - my weekly shopping bill has never been so low but you need a degree in maths and organisational jiggery pokery to be able to achieve it :rotfl::rotfl:
For me, it is worth the time as groceries is probably the only area of my budget where I have some flexibility and can make much needed savings - I've pretty much hammered everything else into the ground and the payments go straight out (mortgage, utilities, insurance, etc). But by golly some days it does take time to draw up that shopping list0 -
