well, if you end up with a different job, then you do, but you will be debt free and able to start again.
But, right now, you need some experienced help to decide if that is the best option for you, and there may be other choices that you can't see right now because you are so stressed.
That is why a debt charity is an excellent starting point. They have seen it all! And can help you talk it through.Debt free 4th April 2007.

Payplan or CAB can help with letter writing and reaching agreements.
What's the worst thing that happens? They reposses the house you can't sell anyway, there is a debt left over from the sale, and yu agree an affordable payment. At the same time you get some help to reclaim the missold PPI. That doesn't sound like the end of the world to me. That sounds like a good solution that would help you move on.Debt free 4th April 2007.

One of the restrictions that worries people the most when they consider declaring themselves bankrupt is what will happen to their jobs. We’ve all heard stories, after all, of people, who got the sack after they were declared bankrupt. It is true in certain cases that you cannot carry on working in certain professions when you are bankrupt but it doesn’t mean that this would be an issue for other jobs. The main professions where you cannot work having been made bankrupt include:- Certain legal fields – you cannot be a member of the Law Society, for example.
- Certain financial fields – you cannot be an Insolvency Practitioner or a Stockbroker.
- Estate Agency
- Pub Licensees.
