Entered wrong reg plate for congestion charge

Hi guys,

My car was hit a couple of weeks ago and I have since been using two different courtesy cars (not at the same time).

I registered the first one for CC, but have since been PAYING for going through the zone in the new car, but against the old one!!

SO TFL are seeing payments for a car that is not actually going through the zone and will be charging the rental company (i.e. which will be me soon) fines/penalties for a car that is going in with no valid payment!

I'm literally hitting myself, but I have been a bit stressed lately and trying to do a lot of things at once and it was quite an honest mistake :$.

Do you think TFL will be reasonable?

Regards,

Z

Transport for London (TfL) does not accept responsibility if you have entered the wrong details. So if you have accidently entered the wrong date or registration number of your vehicle then you will not be recorded as having paid, which will result in a Penalty Charge Notice

So nothing you can do but pay up!

Try them, but I doubt it.

Does anyone know the penalty charge amount for not paying? Apparently if you pay within 28 days, you get 50% discount..

    Cheers,

I'd be impressed if you had been using them at the same time! :p

On a serious note though, asking TFL to be reasonable will be a complete waste of time.

    Hey guys,

I rang TFL and while they couldn't reveal a lot of information given I am not the registered keeper, they did confirm that "there were no oustanding PCNs against the car in question".

I probed further and further and what he was eluding to is that there have been previous PCNs against it but have been settled in the past.

    Guess I got lucky!
