I would also be interested in replies to this. My old Fiesta has finally died. Am considering getting a year old Skoda Favio and a loan for about 5 1/2K over 3 years but wondering if I leased a car would it cut monthly costs dramatically. weighing pros and cons.

I do need a car but am not mechanically minded to get an older one and do not want unexpected high bills. if it wasnt for the kids I would just rely on buses and my bike but they freak out the thought of not having a car.

Leasing is a good option if you want a new car say every 3 years & you do less than 10000 miles / year, usually any more miles and it becomes very expensive. We lease a Mazda MX-5 over 3 years for a lot less than the forecasted depreciation.

By leasing, do you mean a PCP? (personal Contract Purchase). That is effectively a lease it reduces the monthly finance costs by defering the future value as a balloon payment at the end. At the end of the finance period (2/3/4 years) you can hand the car back, pay off the balloon payment or trade in for another PCP. Look at https://www.lexfreechoice.com https://www.drivethedeal.com (chose your car then 'finance it') https://www.uknewcars.co.uk
    hope this helps
