I've been looking for an mp3 player, and after a bit of research, have more or less narrowed it down to this SanDisk Sansa Clip+ 8GB on Amazon for £33.10.

Don't want to spend much more than this. It's mostly for audiobooks, podcasts and some music. Just wanted to get a few more opinions on this player or if there's anything better at a similar price?
Thanks in advance.

I've got one of those and find it does the job quite nicely:)
If you look round sometimes the likes of Play will do an offer where you get the player with a free micro SD card(I got an "8 + 16" one which was basically the 8gb player with an SD thrown in free).

Could find a used Panasonic SD MP3 that can take 32Gb for prob a tenner all in.0

I had a Sansa Clip, it gets great reviews, and has sold by the bucket-load. Cheap and cheerful, it will be more than enough for what you need. Plus you can buy an 8GB microSD card for a fiver and double your storage if you ever run out of space. Go for it.poppy100

Thanks for your replies. Will have a look on Play.
Where would I look for the Panasonic one?0 -
The one you chose seems ideal or this...

Yup, the Sansa Clip+ is an excellent no-frills basic music player. If you want small size, high capacity, good battery life and don't mind its lack of fancy graphics then it should be ideal.
Also very easy to organise your music on the PC as it can be managed from the Explorer/File Manager without any extra software.
It also benefits a lot from a better quality set of headphones and there is a recent good thread here on best quality/price headphones if you look.0 -
also try Ebay for the sansa clip+ - maybe down to £19 - lowest I've seen.
good luck0 -
Don't know if it's the best around but I love my Sansa Clip+0

Bought this for a family member for Christmas, got a bundle deal from Play as someone mentioned with the memory card included. Excellent deal.
The 'low volume' problem perplexed me for a while until I found the answer courtesy of Google.A big believer in karma, you get what you give :A
If you find my posts useful, "pay it forward" and help someone else out, that's how places like MSE can be so successful.0 -

Those Euro legislators who know what's best for us.
BTW, if you want to try a different range of displays and features, it may be worth loading Rockbox on it - but beware, it doesn't run the game Doom well - I very nearly bricked mine in the process of trying that!0
