Unwanted PPI Claim

Hi there.
I have used one of the PPI claims company as I thought I might have been able to get some money back from the loan we've taken some time ago. It didn't work. But when I was on the phone once with their advisor he tricked me to get my mortgage and credit card checked as well. They have send me forms to fill in. I send them back and nothing happend for about half a year. Then I have a phone call asking for some more information regarding my claims. I thought: no. I don't want this anymore. They didn't bothered contact me and let me know what's going on for such a time and now they've lost something and they want me to fill the same forms again. Because they send me again the same forms to fill in as before. I said I'm not going to do it so now they send me a letter saying that they going to charge me for work already undertaken if I won't send them those forms back filled in.
Can they do that? Haven't I got the right to refuse their service?
Thanks for your advise.
Andy

Ask them for full details of the work they have done to date, with evidence.
If they have lost the documents that is going to be rather difficult for them!0
