income based esa and cb based esa at same time

when you are moved from incapacity do you just get cb esa or can you get cb plus an elemant of income based at same time,if so whats needed to qualify for this?

You get ESA(CB) and if you qualify ESA(IR) as a top-up. You need to meet the income, asset and partners working rules to be eligible

if its a straight migration or conversion from IB to ESA, you should stay on the ESA(c) & not see any change in your income.

you'll get the personal allowance, the component, then if theres a shortfall to what the IB was, you'll have a transitional addition to top it up, this addition doesnt make it (ir) though, its just for the conversion.

this is only for conversions/migrations though.

If you're currently on IB topped up by IS you may find that you are entitled to cb ESA with a top up with ib ESA due to the premiums applicable.

After 12 months the cb ESA will be reassessed, to see if you are eligible for full ib ESA.
