    I am not sure what you mean by the agreement having lapsed four years ago? You have 6 years to enforce the debt before it becomes "statute-barred", so if your sale was in 2007, you are still within time to issue proceedings.

    Wow, thanks for that. I had no idea. I won't hijack the OPs thread with this discussion but I will go away and think about it. I believe I still have the receipts. I wanted to put a charging order against the house, but feared it would cost more than the debt was worth.
