Would you recomend a Sun holiday in Europe?

Hello!
have got my priority form ready to book and was wondering if I should use the opportunity to take the family for a weeks break in France.

We have had a number of successful sun holidays in the UK, so wanted to know how good the European holidays are? What would the chances be of getting one in August and what sites in France are the ideal, Im thinking Brittany?

Also as we have never been on holiday in France what are the prices like, is it expensive for things like food and petrol as we are thinking of driving from Calais as the ferries to Brittany are too pricey for us even with the sun offer!

Sorry for all the questions, and thank you in advance if you take the time to reply, :D

    yes ! they are fab
been doing SUN hols to France since 2006. Only been to 1 site in Brittany so far ( Le Ranolien ) and trying Les Mouettes this year ( June half term)
ferry has cost us £300 odd instead of £500 odd,so quite a saving by booking with the SUN
and saves all that driving ! love the overnight ferry Plymouth - Roscoff

never tried for Aug,but good luck

We do Sun Holidays in May/June halfterm and have always had a fabulous time, usually staying on the Vendee. Really pleased with the 2 sites we have used. We tend to use the Eurotunnel, catch an early shuttle and drive down, stopping at a service station, picking up a baguette, cheese and ham and having a picnic (taking some cutlery/bread knife with us). Its a great way to do it!

We have done one european sun hol last year and will be doing our second one this october half term.
We've never done one over may half term or easter before, but was wondering can you do 7 nights then. I've never been clear when you are able to extend to 7 nights from the usual 3 or 4.
Thanks for any info. Obviously not relevent for this round of hols, but i would think about booking seven nights in the future, for easter or may.

Yes, we always book a 7 night break in the May/June half-term. Not tried Easter as am usually busy then. This time we are going Friday-Friday, you either do that or go Monday-Monday if availability permits.

That's great to know. Good to have the option of seven nights. :).
  • We are also hoping to get a Sun Holiday to France this year. Does anyone know if you can take a trailer/roofbox if you book the ferry crossing with the Sun? Is there a supplement to pay for doing this or is the price for car and passengers only?
