Motorbike theft -scared they won't pay out

Could it be classed as an unfair clause.
You must be very tempted to say you took it round the front at 6.30 ready for work..................
That might work right up to the point where the police ANPR records show it 60 miles away at that point :eek:We need the earth for food, water, and shelter.
The earth needs us for nothing.
The earth does not belong to us.

Just had mine pinched. Came in from work at 10:00 pm,soaking wet and cold I parked the bike by my gate in the private courtyard that I live.,put the steering lock on,went in to dry off and eat something, went back out at 12:00 am to put in shed and it was gone. Phoned insurance and they stated the same about being in a garage between !0:00 pm and 6:00 am. After apologising for working until 10:00 pm and wanting to get warm first, they are sending out a claim form. Hope this means they are going to pay out. Claim should only be around £1400 so not a huge amount. Fingers crossed0

The 1st question i would ask is why would you go inside to dry off then go outside in the wet to put the bike away?
Takes how many seconds to lock the bike away?Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -

From your response I guess you don't ride a bike.0 -
That's a very extreme clause. What happens if you want to stay away from home overnight?
The insurance company usually sets a radius of 2 miles or so.
If the bike is stolen outside but is more than 2 miles or so from the garaged address, then it may be ok (obviously, in this case it isn't).0 -

If you dont class a scooter as a bike then no i dont.
When i bought it i knew they were high risk from theft. So always secured it. Even when filling up with fuel etc. I would pop the lock on.
Extreme maybe but it worked for me.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
myn paid out years back when stolen outside the house, it was jsut lifted into a van even with an alarm onDon't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0
