Removing top from Hotpoint Washing machine

i need to replace the door seal on my Hotpoint Ultima WT761 washing machine. I have fallen at the first hurdle, I can't remove the top off the machine. I have undone the 2 screws at the back of the machine but the top wont budge. I've tried pushing forward / pulling backward :mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

any ideas would be greatly appreciated

Normally you lift the back up slightly about (2-3cms) and pull it towards the front.If its never been off it may need a little persuasion.

I've tried lifting the back up and pulling/pushing all to no available. It feels like its hinged somehow at the front

Does the lid have 2 little plastic tabs either side towards the front of the lid? If so, prise them off with a small screwdriver and remove the screws inside. It will then lift off.

Ok got it off now, it was just a matter of whacking, wiggling and pulling with all of my strength to get it off. thanks for the help everyone
