The best way of doing it is to copy cd's to the pc as mp3's and then move them to the ipod. You can also buy albums and singles from music sites on the internet. However most downloading sites put restrictions on the files to the point of locking the music to a particular player. oh & they are a complete rip off as the quality is also standard, so not for money savers. It completely astounds me that sites such as itunes are not only still in business, but making money. what is the phrase about money and sense.Nudge nudge, Wink wink, Say No More!0

Try Podcasting.
Go to the Music Store in iTunes and either choose Podcasts from the menu on the left, or search for an artist and look for the "Subscribe" button (where it normally says "Buy Song", or click on the Podcast link in the section above your search results.
The second way will narrow your search to artists your DD likes the first will let her try new stuff.
Subscribe to a few and they will automatically download a new episode when it's available. You can delete any that are unsuitable.
There are different ways to get podcasts but iTunes is a good way to get started.
Be aware though that if you have a capped download on your broadband it can eat through it quite quickly.0 -
To be honest, as you can only listen to one thing at a time (and usually only a few albums a day), you can usually get by with just ripping your cd's to itunes. Gives you the chance to vet what you put on it rather than just filling it up with stuff for the sake of it.
podcasts are also a very good way to do things. I usually while away the time at work listening to podcasts all day.
Cheers

although its nowhere near as labourious as the old days and making a mixtape for the car by realtime dubbing vinyls, theres no shortcut way to do it. the best way is to just add one or two albums a week. that way you can spend time listening to more 'new' stuff. i see filling my ipod as a labour of love! The Optimist and the Pessimist
The difference is a droll
