Help, have no idea what to do

Hi, Im new to the forum and new to this ppi malarky

I was wondering if people could help me, i found my husbands loan agreement which is still ongoing and yes he has ppi, he's diabetic (has been since 2001, loan taken out 2007) and i was asking him if he was asked about existing medical conditions and he said that he wasnt. the loan we have now was a loan taken out to pay off an existing loan and other things. I cant find the agreement for the original loan. My husband said he got the impression from the salesperson that if ppi wasnt taken with the loan, then he wouldnt have got it.
Was also wondering if there is a template letter that i could use to write to the Clydesdale bank to see if we are entitled to a refund, I know what i want to say but i cant seem to write it out very well. Any help would be greatly appreciated

    SAR template here:

This will provide all information the respective Banks hold. It costs £10 per lender.
Make sure your husband signs the letter if the accounts are in his name.

Is the PPI on this loan included in the loan monthly payment? if it is then this is Single Premium PPI, in effect the PPI is put on the loan balance and you pay this to term end with interest.
Single Premium is the most upheld of all PPI reclaims and if yours is paid this way, then use this.
When you put the claim in ( send a copy of the agreement that you have )let them know there was a loan previous to this that was paid off using the one you are claiming for and ask that they look into this too.

    The questionnaire is here

We pay the loan at £41.20 per week, on the loan agreement it says that £8.36 pw is ppi. On the questionnaire for claiming it asks for ppi policy number which I dont have, all the bank gaves us was the loan agreement, do i still need to request a SAR or will using the bank account numbers do fine?

The loan agreement number will do - make clear that it is the loan agreement number.

Single premium PPI is the reason you use for mis sell.

The number that is on the loan agreement is actually, the loan account number. I went into the bank today with the questionnaire as my husband has signed it to say that I can deal with it for him. They went and checked and came back and said that they needed my hubby to call and ask for the account number, I dont just want the loan account number I want a printout of the loan agreement so I can send to the Clydesdale head office. the staff were actually nasty so I will be sending hubby in tomorrow. Also I asked for the address to send the complaint to and was told Vincent Place in Glasgow but the address on the addresses thread on here says Waterloo street, which one do i use??

plus, on the questionnaire it asks why I am not happy with the insurance now, I know what I want to say about the single premium PPIand the fact he was never asked about medical conditions but just cant seem to put it onto paper, writing letters never been a strong point of mine lol, would someone be able to help me

Would I be able to send this to Clydesdale bank instead of the PPI Questionnaire? Also can I do 2 letters the same for both loans we had or do i add in on the 1st letter about the existing loan

    Dear Sir or Madam,

    Re: Account number: xxxxxxxxxxxx

I am writing in relation to the above loan payment protection which I believe was mis-sold to me.

I took out the loan in October 2007 to pay off the loan I already had with the Clydesdale Bank which I also believe the PPI on that was mis-sold to me on the same grounds as stated below (Loan Account No: XXXXXX) and to cover other expenses. I would appreciate if you could investigate the loan that the above loan was used to repay also

    I believe you have not treated me fairly for the following reasons;

    • The salesperson selling the insurance was pushy and strongly advised me to take the insurance.

    • I was told I could not get my loan without the PPI

    • I was not asked about any pre-existing medical conditions I suffered from

    • I was not warned that pre-existing medical conditions could affect my insurance

    • I was sold a single premium policy that was not fully explained to me as the whole cost of the insurance was not made clear to me

Unless you can prove that the policy was fair and reasonable and that I was treated fairly when I was sold the insurance, I demand a full refund of all premiums, and subsequent interest on these payments, that I have paid in relation to this policy. I also expect 8% interest to be added to each payment I have made as this is the statutory amount a court would pay.

I look forward to your full and prompt response to this letter. If this matter is not settled within eight weeks of this letter I shall be contacting the Financial Ombudsman to investigate my complaint.

    Yours faithfully,
