Any views on whether AA or RAC are better?

Had Green Flag breakdown cover for years. Because they are insurance based and quote on what car you have and our car is now old, they are more expensive this year than the AA or RAC (when the car was young they were very cheap).
Any views on whether the AA or RAC are better? Both work out the same price after Quidco cashback. Never used either - I've only ever been with Green Flag for breakdown who have always been very good (called them out 4-5 times).

Before you pay for any check your bank account, you may have "free cover" with your current account for the AA all ready. Many people forget about this and pay for cover twice.0

No - we don't get breakdown cover with our bank account...0

Green Flag are way cheaper, where are you getting your prices from?0

I've called out RAC in the past and they were extremely good! I'm with Greenflag at the moment and haven't had to use them (touch wood!)0

I've been with the AA for years, and they have always been helpful when called out.
The last time the AA man drove me a 30+ mile round trip to get a replacement part for my car.0 -
There are a lot of reviews here.

No experience of RAC only AA so can only offer opinion on one.
AA patrol blokes have gone the extra mile for me on more than one occasion, when technically they weren't really supposed to and were bending the rules a little. One drove us and a load of shopping home when he found out it was our daughter's birthday and her friends were due to arrive for a party.
Waiting times for the AA to arrive have been reasonable as has the amount of communication from them whilst waiting (they phone or text you to give you updates or more accurate eta's).
Last callout involved a flat tyre in freezing wet weather at night in the dark. The lad just got on with it with good humour and was chatty and friendly throughout.
We've been with the AA for years now and have never had a reason to consider changing tbh.Herman - MP for all!0 -
I've got AA with my bank account and they've been really good. The guy got my car started, followed me to one garage and then when that garage told me to go elsewhere, followed me to the second garage. They've been quick to arrive too.0

Been with both, never noticed any great difference. I alternate between the 2 so I get the new member discount0

Had both, have had good experiences with both.
One silly experience with RAC where a van with a VW tool was required but because not with the VW branded version of RAC they couldnt/ wouldnt specify that one was sent but after they sent the first van without one they said just to phone up again, wait again and hope that this time it was a VW van that turned up.0
