My husband has just received his new Virgin CC which he applied for over the net. At the time he asked for a SBT to our Woolwich account. He has just received a letter thanking him for his transfer request but that they could not process it without further information and he has to call them ( can't do that they're closed for the holidays). Do you think this is because the account number for the transfer he gave is a current account number? Has this happened to anyone else?

Yeah that would work wouldn't it? I've just been accepted for a Virgin card with £5000 limit, but yet to do a SBT. If they are going to charge me a fee I could do a normal BT to my new Egg Card, then transfer the money from Egg into my current account.

Anyone see any problems with this?

No problems doing that. Stoozers do it all the time with non-SBT cards.
