So sorry to hear your sad news Natterjack. Hugs to you and your OH. Having been through it twice myself, while keeping busy can help, you need to allow yourself time to grieve too. Remember to talk about how you're both feeling too.
I didn't join the challenge this month but have managed a few ebay sales of our son's baby items so a bit more room in the house for now at least.

Fairy don't worry, I've been doing the same. It's all been for the students (bunk beds, duvet covers, duvet and pillows, mattresses ect) but hopefully the payment from them will put me (nearly) right! So disheartening to see my savings take such a dive.£20k in 2023 = £2718 £2023 in 2023 = £196.41 Grocery challenge £250= £195.80 **MONEY MAKES ME HAPPY**0

Hello all,
This is my very first post (anywhere, ever!). I want to start saving and making some cash rather than it all going out of my bank account. I sent some gold to Hatton Garden Metals yesterday so hopefully I can get May off to a good start despite joining this tread late.
I've found some really good ideas in this thread so thanks for all the tips.Weight loss 2017/2018 - 49 lbs0 -

Well, doing great so far. Have had £298.31 paid into my bank account this morning from selling some unwanted old gold just yesterday. So I am rather happy with this result! I have put £100 of this into a debt and have joined another great thread, the pay as much as you can in 2012 one.
I'm now gathering up stuff from around the house to sell on eBay/car boot sale or the selling boards at my work. Not decided yet. Never done eBay or the car boot thing!
It's a revelation!

I requested a Paypal payment the other day, but it's my first one (as I usually do vouchers) so am not sure how long it will take...My first one took 3 days, the next one took 1 day
, and my most recent one, which came through a couple of days ago, took 8 days.
So that's an average of 4 days, but could be any time! :rotfl:
Does however remind me that I haven't added the £6.05 from a couple of days ago. Takes me over the £200 mark. Must have a read back and see where it's all from, as I don't feel like I've made that much at all this month
Ignore my reply - I saw it as SP rather than SB, so my answer was referring to Superpoints. Sorry!Moneysaverme wrote: »Hello all,

Hello!! Good to have another new face on board (well, a new name, but I'm sure you have a face too :rotfl:)
I was going to say did you want me to add you to the list for £10 a day for the rest of the month, but then saw your next post, and :T:T you're already there for the month already from selling your old gold. What a fantastic start!
With regards to selling the rest of your unwanted things, Ebay is actually really easy once you've started. And quite exciting when you start!
Are you on Facebook, as if so you should search for local Buy & Sell groups that you could use as well, might be a better alternative to boards at work as reach a wider audience!Half of November Make £10 a Day Challenge: £51/ £1700 -
£3.50 win from gala bingo that I forgot to add the other day and two planned meals out cancelled this week so have moved £20 to savings.
Its been quiet on here the last few days...everyone just too busy making money??0
