    Putting your facetious comments aside....yes, they will investigate. Does your Mum have in excess of £6k in savings? Whether she does or not she (or you as her FT carer) should submit documents to the DWP asap to facilitate their investigation. If she doesn't have savings then they will ascertain this and reinstate her IS; if she does, they will act accordingly. This could mean repaying an overpayment and/or the cessation of her benefit entirely. Depends on what, if any, savings she has.
