Where can I find out airport duty free prices for cigarettes etc? I have googled and can't find a suitable site and I have searched Gatwick - to no avail. I just want to price things to see if I am really saving anything - Dalaman airport has only got a smallish duty free area so am worried I may not be able to get what I want, by which time I shall be on my way home!
Can I buy now and collect later? e.g when I arrive back.

Don't think there is anywhere you will find prices. Yes you will make savings on Drink and Cigs. Electrical goods etc, no you will not.
With alowances so low for it to be of any real interest you will have to buy more.

Cigarettes at Dalaman airport or just in your resort in Turkey will be cheaper than both Gatwick duty free and on your flight.
I would hold out until you get there as you can also get cigs on arrival at Dalaman airport.:beer:0 -

Re Alpha Duty Free Website (NCL).
If you want to buy duty free goods but do not want to take them on the plane Alpha Airport Shopping offers Collect on Return and Home Delivery services.
All you have to do is choose the items you want to purchase and when you pay for them ask about the Collect on Return service which will arrange for you to pick your purchases up from a specified point when you arrive back at Newcastle Airport. Or the home delivery service will bring the purchases to your door. Because of customs constraints this services is only offered to EU or domestic passengers.
Obviously the above would be no good for those travelling outside the EU and therefore would not benefit from the additional reductions on the likes of alcohol and tobacco for those passengers.
I have to state though that I rarely buy anything in UK duty free outlets as they are generally poor value (unless there is a particular offer ongoing) and the limited savings hardly justify the hassle of lugging your purchases all over the world.0 -
If the duty free shop is offering "collection on return" then it is NOT duty free as this has to be exported. Duty Free prices are only applicable to those going outside the EU. However, there are an increasing number of destinations that have duty free arrival shops - e.g. Turkey and most recently Switzerland have introduced them.0

They may be 'tax free' however - although I do think the wording of Alpha's quote in my previous post is a little misleading as it does state 'duty free' - although I suspect that if you also paid the duty, then you could collect them - but that somewhat defeats the object.
Judging by the prices of the duty free at NCL - even if the facility was available to leave 'duty free good' and collect them on return, their prices are not very competitive and I just wouldn't bother.
Many of their 'duty free' products are cheaper in Tesco's - although that applies to most duty free outlets here in the UK.0
