Car Insurance Renewal with Points Pending

Hi All,
My Car Insurance is due for renewal on 5th May 2012. I had already carried our my research as to which insurer is best, but the other day I received notice of a speeding fine. It was just the first letter, but I have acknowledged myself as the driver and returned the form straight away.
Unfortunately I was over the threshold for so not able to do the Speed Awareness Course. Therefore, I assume 3 points and a fine are inevitable.
The question I have is how does this or could this affect my Car Insurance renewal. I am ready to commit to my existing insurer, Endsleigh, with a future start date of 05/05/2012, but assume until I officially receive the points don't need to disclose this? (I'll check the exact Qs on the application). As and when I do receive the points should I inform the insurer?
Any thoughts or comments would be appreciated.
Thanks

They usually ask for pending prosecutions / fixed penalties which this is.
If your renewing with Endsleigh, you may be able to negotiate no loading if you deal with them in a certain way0
