Tesco Ink Recycling Problems

With Tesco being stingy on points the 100 points per recycled ink cartridge looks attractive. However I have had many problems with items not being received, failing electrical tests etc etc. Never have I had a full amount accepted without some problems. If anyone else had any problems with the scheme? Its been operated by a third party on behalf of Tesco so no doubt they have to pay Tesco £xx.xx per so many points they issue. I have heard of other people suffering problems so I want to build up some evidence to contact Tesco with. Many thanks in advance.

Regarding ink cartridges - have you checked that they still have your type of ink cartridges on their most up-to-date list of cartridges accepted? I found mine which were on both the Tescos and Boots recycling lists have dropped off as the printer became older.
I've sent them one old mobile and 2 ink cartridges. The mobile and one of the ink cartridges got credited to my account. The other ink cartridge seemed to get lost but they gave the point as a gesture of good will.
That's a much better response than from InkXpress, who have lost around 5 of my cartridges and haven't responded to my communication over this. Although, initially they did pay out for the first few I sent them.
I also sent two to a Wales based company - I think inkcartridgerecycle.co.uk - they lost both and never communicated back.0 -

Ive sent them many cartridges in the past from various printers. I must admit I didnt realise there was an accepted list. I have sent them cartridges from up to date printers too but never had anything in all the years to confirm they have been credited.
I get this problem with a lot of Tesco ponts other than the shopping they never seem to show up on the clubcard statements they send out ! Where do I check them please?Failure is only someone elses judgement.
Without change there would be no butterflies.
If its important to you, you'll find a way - if not, you'll find an excuse ! ~ Easy to say when you take money out of the equation!

Any items that relate to recycling, would on the statement come under the heading of 'Green Clubcard points' - which also includes points for your own carrier bags (though not in Wales), and aluminium cans.
When the inkjet cartridges are returned, the CC no is recorded, and the cartridge 'tested' - that it can be recycled.
Clubcard should be able to supply the 0800 no for the recycling people - for you to check.I used to work for Tesco - now retired - speciality Clubcard0 -
I just went to re-order new cartridge envelopes and found out that mine are no longer accepted? So decided to check my account and I am missing around 900 points.
I order the envelopes in batches (I am sure I am not the only person that does this), so wasn't aware of the changes. Until I went to order them today. There was no communication from either Tesco or the 3rd party company to explain the changes.
So I have emailed Tesco and asked the question "If you don't recycle the cartridges anymore, what are you doing with them that are being sent?"
There are two options here I can see from the reply:
1. They are sending to landfill - which if said would be a PR disaster.
or
2. They are being recycled (possibly via another company) - so as they have been recycled, you should earn clubcard points.0 -
I've recycled quite a few cartridges and have only had a couple fail. I rang the recycling factory and asked what happens to the ones that fail. The plastic is recycled and they don't send it to landfill which I found reassuring.
The envelopes that i've got do clearly say 'we can recycle all cartridges except Epson & damaged ones. However points/donations can only be awarded for specific cartridges. To check if your cartridge qualifies, please scan the QR code, visit www.therecyclingfactory.com or call 0800 091 0696'.0 -
hi i posted 3 envelopes each containing 3 ink cartridges & only got credited for 4. after emailing them they stated only 4 qualified & 4 failed. thats impossible as they were all same cartridges & 4 & 4=8 no mention of the 9th. my sister inlaw who lives at same address posted 3 ink cartridges & 1 mobile phone & never got anything from the recycling but tesco gave her 300 points for the 3 cartridges. its strange that we from the same house are getting this problem. we think someone is keeping the cartridge points foe themselves & stealing the mobile phones. my phone was working perfect & should have got me 500 points. its an obvious scam & i will be complaining to tesco myself. i think if they recieve enough complaints they will see something is going on & investigate. im not sending anymore:(0
