How long does NCD last...?

My situation is that i have been driving for the best part of 30 years and have what i guess is max NCD..usually capped at about 8 or 9 years by most companies. My current policy which was paid in full when i took it out, runs out in a few months but the car to which it applied,is no longer on the road/in use. I am a named driver on another policy. I also drive my company vehicle at work. If i dont buy another car and have continuous insurance solely in my name,am i going to get ripped off if i leave too long a break?

Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..

  • From what I have read on here it usually is accepted by companies for 2 years after you last had insurance - however it can vary from company to company there is no specific rule for all of them.

Most companies seem to say within 2 years
With a couple saying one year, and a couple saying more than 2 is fine, but 2 years is the standard

I recently got bitten by this. I had always assumed it was good for 2 years, and as my NCD was only 15 months old then thought I'd be fine. However, Liverpool Victoria who were the cheapest quote only accept up to 12 months. Eventually went with AXA who are happy with up to 2 years.

In short, it varies from insurer to insurer, but you will struggle to find one that accepts it over 2 years old.
