have currently got 2 credit cards, both come out of 0% interest period and i want to apply for a new 0% balance transfer card, but was declined in September for one. Is there a way I can see if i'll be accepted before actually applying? Or what cards are more lineant, if any are?
Any advice greatly appreciated

Try nationwide fill in the app and at the end it will give you a quote on apr and if you will be accepted or not.0 -
How much do you owe on the two cards you've already got?
What is your annual net income?
Any other debts?
Mortgage?
Overdraft?British Ex-pat in British Columbia!0 -

Lloyds TSB card: £11,000
Santander: £4,500
Odraft limit: £2,000 (usually go into it by about £500 each month
Salary is £45,000. Tax year 20121-2012 eaning £68k due to extra working0 -
Cheers people, Bugsy will take a look at nationwide, im assuming do it online?
withabix, no other debts only the 2 cards just out of 0% interest period, and overdraft I usually dip into by £500 a month (£2k limit)
i have a £120k mortgage on my property, value of £160k, i borrowed another £14k last January when changing mtg lender for home inprovements
Thanks guys0 -
You might benefit from trying to reduce your debts.
£16k in unsecured debts. An extra £14k banged on the mortgage. Looking to change credit cards ...
I may well be wrong, and your income is more than sufficient to support these debts, but you've just had a bumper year so should you really still owe this much?0 -

I would say that you have almost no chance of being offered a 0% card and actually very little chance of any card under the typical market 16.9% APR as you are carrying a lot of unsecured debt already, plus credit records will show that you are using your overdraft every month.
My opinion: You need to start paying down the unsecured debt rather than card shuffling.British Ex-pat in British Columbia!0 -
As per other comments - best to reduce current unsecured debt.
From memory Barclaycard provide an option on their website to soft-search in advance of a formal application - this should give you an idea of acceptance etc.
The CRA website Noddle also produce a list of accounts based on their review of your file to line you up with offers that you could be successful for. Noddle is a free service - Experian offers a similar service but you pay a hefty fee.0 -
The noddle and checkmyfile etc card matchers are not very accurate. Gives me 8/10 for cap1 classic, 6/10 vanquis and 5/10 aqua. Its more of a profile matcher. I just got mbna card but coz it sees my ccj it only suggests subprime cards.
Barclaycard pre-app checker won't tell you the credit limit (looks like you are after a big one).
Nationwide soft quote does indicate credit limit. If APR quoted is 19.9% it often means that you will be declined when you apply0 -

Thanks everyone, and yes I am starting to pay off the debts, what should I target first, clearing (and closing off) the overdraft on my current account, or part of one of my cards?
I'm finally sorted at home and got everything done that was needed, so am now in a position to pay large chunks off my debts, but would of liked a 0% transfer card to put some of my debt onto for the few months its going to take to pay it off
Should i clear the Odraft first, and cancel it with the bank so it doesnt show up as an 'available credit' for when/if i find a card I want?0
