Swansea Loft Conversion

I am seriously considering a loft conversion but like many people on here am a) scared of getting ripped off and b) looking for an excellent tradesman to do the work.
Do i need planning permission??
Do i need to put in a window??
Does it have to have a radiator??
I've already had a lot of work done to my house and have had some great experiences with tradesmen but also some not so great so i have a vague idea of what i want to pay.
Any help would be appreciated....

You wouldn't need planning permission for a loft conversion but building regulations approval is needed.

you may need planning permission if the house is listed or in a certain area iirc, but generally no0
