Perhaps show extensions for know files is turned off ??

In Windows Explorer - Right click on Start Button >> select Explore

Tools menu >> Folder Options >> View Tab >> Scroll Down and untick "Hide extensions for known file types"

If that is what you meant ???

Look for the same in file manager - or is that too far back ....:rotfl:

Or change it from a dos prompt window - you will see the full file name there.

copy it to the c:\ drive root

click on start and run and type cmd and hit ok

When the dos window appears type in CD C:\ and hit return

Then type rename xxxxx.exe to xxxx.aaa

then type exit and hit return
