Morning all, slept so well last night (dropped off to the archers at midnight). Yesterday i heard talks on the recent archeological excavations at stirling castle, a character from the Dorothy Dunnett Lymond series, a turkish merchant !!! warrior bearing a Resemblance to a dunnett character (by a phd student who won the inaugral dunnett prize) and women's clothes in the ottaman era. Brilliant day, good company, good food then a taxi over to daughter's flat. Rather pricey day but allout of pocket monet so still being :money:

Work thoughts crept in occassionally but i banished them. It was exactly what i needed. The group is going to stirling castle today which would have been fun but i have something else this afternoon in edinburgh so plans for this morning are go to cafe for breakfast withDD1, go to national gallery on tod (DD1 studying hard for exams) or go CS trawlling (love a place where CSs are open on a sunday), grab a sarnie and go to 2pm meeting, go have drink with friend then catch train back to Dundee. :T

I now have the knees of an 80 year old
Well, give them back; the 80-year-old will need them!:rotfl:

Lucy's here!:T She's a great big softy; 11 years old, and a retired gun-dog. We're going to take her out for a pre-prandial perambulation in a few minutes - in between showers!;)

She has a message for Puppy Bramble: quit chasing squirrels,:naughty: it's not good for your health!:p

Snuggled up with Molly Dog on my bed listening to the thunder rumbling around. Molly is un phased but Poppy is sat on her Daddy's knee and is a trembling wreck:eek:

    Rant Alert.....
I have had an absolutely rubbish day. It started with my kids who at various times of the night and early morning woke me up five times with their various comings and goings. Then they had the cheek to ask for lifts to work and were told Shank's Pony!

I then spent the morning filling in wretched bl00dy benefit appeal forms as apparently Im ok to go to work - despite being retired on the highest tier of NHS Pension. I mean it is just so humiliating to have to beg for the benefit but without it I will be 400 plus pounds a month worse off. I want to just forget it but dont have that luxury.
Sorry this has turned into a rant but Im struggling and I must remember that whilst these forms describe me they sure as hell dont define me!
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.
