Hi, this is the Daily Thread for 22st April. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!

As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.

When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.
Morning all
Sunny here this morning, but I don't expect it to last, hubby's work clothes are in the WM, I'll hang them on the line when they are washed.
I seemed not to stop yesterday, but there is still so much to do that I feel I didn't achieve anything.
I really should try to do more in the evenings after work but after working 9 hours with only a 20 minute break, I'm too tired, still I must make more effort.
Have a good day everybody
Hugs Hester

Good Morning Hester and all to follow.

Lovely sunshine here this morning, long may it last. At least until DS' football match has finished :o

Pottering day today, all the normal housework, washing, ironing.......the sunshine is showing how dirty my kitchen windows are so will put them on the todo list too.

Forgot to get chicken out of the freezer for last night so just about to do that now, so roast chicken and the trimmings for dinner.

Good Luck to everyone in the Marathon - there's usually as few MSE'rs in there too so extra special luck. We delivered the medals yesterday so they are definitely there :D

    Have a great day all.x

Mornng Hester and all who follow.
Sunshine here for the moment :) will it last long enough to dry the washing? Who knows.....
Went out last night with a friend and it was very :money:, we ate before we went out and only had soft drinks (I was driving) but I now have the knees of an 80 year old from soooo much dancing. Had a great night though :D
Plans for today are to catch up on some sleep, got in last night and then had to keep chasing KC out the house with her mouse  she's persistent that moggy  need to cook chicken for lunch and prep veg and house looks like bomb site. I swear my husban is oblivious to the mess

Best thing today though is H and I are off to see Cirque Du Soleil tonight :j can't wait :D H was bought the tickets as a 40th birthday present. Am über excited :j

Hugs and spoons all round. Have wonderful Sunday everyone xx

    Morning all

    Bitsy - enjoy tonight!

Another one currently debating whether the sun will last long enough to put on the WM!

I'm at a bit of a loss about what to do today! I had penciled the day for finishing my assignment, but I did that yesterday so have no plans now. I don't really want to spend any money so may just go out for a walk somewhere. I need to pack and sort a few bits out as off to Edinburgh tomorrow.

OS wise - WM maybe, dishes to wash, Sunday dinner will consist of roast spuds/nut roast/ gravy/swede all from the freezer, plus some fresh veg that needs using up before I go away tomorrow.

    Have a good day all

    Morning everyone,

Bitsy enjoy your evening, it sounds exciting!

Hugs to LW, Molly and all poorly people and animals. There seems to be quite a lot of illness at the moment.

    JackieO how is your arm?

    Lou how is your bump?

    Flutterby enjoy your free day.

Hester I know how you feel about needing to get more done in the week, I do seem to find it easier now that we have light nights.

Off to church this morning and then batch cooking for the rest of the week.
OH has gone off early with some friends on a 100km bike ride so I better cook something filling for tea tonight, I think that I will do lasagne.

DD2 is recovering from yesterdays netball tournament and the other 2 kids are just sleeping as they are teenagers!

    Have a lovely day everyone.:)

    Morning All

Had work last night but just till 10 which wasn't too bad. Unfortunately woke up about half 5 this morning and couldn't get back to sleep no matter how long I lay there! Probably go for a swim in a while when DD gets up.

Have actually got a meal plan this week, DD came in from work the other day with some pages from a magazine with recipes for the week so I will let her carry on - I think it's fish cakes today.

Did my shopping at L!dl and A!di yesterday and certainly saw a difference in the price. Bought some meat too which looks really good, hope it tastes as good.

Not much planned for today, weather not too good, will see what happens as the day goes on.

Enjoy your Sundays, take care. XX

    Morning all,

Bright sunshine here, but not sure it will last, got our bedding in the wm, so lets hope it stays bright for a while, my airer is full.

Got some little nagging jobs done yesterday, bits that I have been wanted doing for ages, so thats good.

OH picked up a sewing machine for dd at the boot sale yesterday :T, its a nice 60's of 70's one, does anyone know of a site where she can down load patterns ? she wants to start making her own clothes, cushions etc.

Dinner tonight will be jacket spuds, cheese ham and salad for OH and I, dd will have veggie spag bol with salad.

More listing to do on ebay today, and we have items finishing today, so they will need packing up.

    Have good days all xx

    Morning :hello:

I was a bit sniffly yesterday but felt OK, this morning I've woken up with a cold Roll-Eyes-smiley12.gif My chest is really tight and I'm out of breath just from walking up the stairs.

I got loads done yesterday - tax return, filing, decluttering and sorting. I've shredded loads of paper, so the animals have plenty of bedding :D

I can't find much info on local fetes. I'll try visiting school websites today, maybe they have events pages or something. Or maybe it's a bit early and I should try again in May and June? I have lists of what I want to sell, lists of things that are ready, lists of supplies I need to buy, lists for everything :D

  • Morning Guys!

Had a bad night and was so relieved when the nurses got here at 7.30 this morning. Everything has just started to kick in and feel a little better now.

OH & DD have gone off to church and have left me with a disabled friendly travel cup with tea in it, cottage cheese on crackers and a cheese sandwich:D So I'm having a picnic in bed.

Last night we had a roast chicken dinner and the left over roasted veg and chicken will be going into a panini later as its scrummy. The house is clean and tidy with washing all up to date.

At nephews later for dinner which will be nice. Ive not been out other than the hospital for the last 3 weeks.

    Have a nice Sunday everyone.
