how much on average do replacement UPVC windows cost?

Hi...
Does anyone know how much it roughly costs to replace a 4 bedroomed house with UPVC windows? we have seen a house that we might buy but it needs new windows... would probably have to go with brown on the outside with white insides preferred..

Just a rough cost would be good .. would help us if we decide to make an offer!

Thanks very much;)

    where are you?
it can make a huge difference.
bay windows or not? porch? doors? etc..

3500/5000 will give you a very rough budget figure.

    or much less than that.

All depends on what the local guy charges, if i was you get a few quotes once your in some fron local firms and some from national firms, expect the national firms to be more expensive by a few thousand.
If it doesnt pay rent sell it.
    Mortgage - £2,000

dont even touch the national companies.
they got huge overheads to pay. and huge commissions.
get 2 or 3 quotes from small local firms.

if you are in the manchester area, i can recommend a stockport company.
    keen prices and great service.

Obviously depends on just how many windows there are and the UPVc can vary in quality enormously. I recently got 8 windows and a door installed as a "homer". Top quality stuff and it cost me £3,300. Expect to pay more than double that from the likes of weatherseal etc. My dad worked for weatherseal for a week and then left. He said he couldn't work for a company with such few morals as them.

Its obviously better to be recommended someone who has used them previously, ask your friends and neighbours to see if they know anyone.
