There is a way you can have the tenner transfered onto your own/ current phone/sim.

Last year i purchased a cheap orange phone for my sister and because she wanted to use it with o2 there was no need for the orange sim. All i did was phone orange saying i had tried to top my credit up but had topped up with the wrong e-top up card. They asked for the no. i had topped up and the number i was supposed to top up and they transfered it right away. When i hung up and checked my balance it was there on the screen, so this only takes a few seconds!

    Hope this helps someone :)

Thank me if it does ;)

To add to this - as far as I know the two sims have to be registered in the same name, so if you're planning on doing this bear that in mind when registering the new phone when it arrives.

They don't have to be registered in the same name, but they do have to speak to the person that the other phone is registered to for their details including password/secret word.

When i did this i just passed the phone onto my sister so she could give them her details and then the phone was passed back to me and everything was sorted with no problems.

    Thanks

True, though this offer was well used when it was on in the past and no-one has yet posted to report problems with orders being cancelled etc. (In fact you don't even need to put in a valid company name at all, type anything at all in the company box and it'll go through.)

There's already a healthy discussion of the ethics of this one at HUKD. I have to admit I haven't taken it up because of this, but people have posted looking for the offer, so here it is if you're happy doing it.

thank you for that have just read the HDUK discussion and people should note that according to some people on there orange have been known to do random checks to make sure people are employees and if not the phones being barred

it is fraudulent, doesn't matter that orange have accepted the order or not people have got the order on the basis they work for that company
its unlikely it would be pursued any further than orange barring the handset but could mean the company in question ruins their corporate relationship with orange.

just think this is very dodgy

I agree that I'm not sure if this one feels quite right, so haven't gone for it. Though the fact that you don't even have to insert any company name might make people feel better about this. After all, the offer's been around for so long now and is so easily available for anybody to do it might just be a marketing ploy, a la Thresher's 'exclusive' 40% voucher.
