I put my shed up on my own with great difficultly years ago, got it from payless diy shed. I agree base is very important and make sure its level. I also rested it on slate, a few mm off the ground makes the base not go rotten as it can get air underneath and slate stops water its old fashioned damp course

Have you looked on freecycle? You could get the slabs/bearers there too
You never know how far-reaching something good, that you may do or say today, may affect the lives of others tomorrow

I bought a shed a few weeks ago and due to various circumstances have not been able to put it together. I visited my allotment this weekend and the chairman popped down and asked me if I wanted it put up. He then recruited a team of 4 and they had it up within the hour! The 'Big Society' really is alive and well in North Devon.

I made my base from 6 concrete blocks and then 3 wooden bearers on top. The bearers are so that the whole shed can be screwed down and on an exposed site.

If anyone else is in North Devon and looking for a shed, Mr House at South West Sheds in Bideford is well worth speaking to.

I put up a 6 by 4 shed for my parents the weekend before last. I used hardwood railway sleepers to mount the floor on and 10" coach screws join the shed to the sleepers. It's not going to blow over. :)

    It was this one...

It was only £169 two weeks ago!

The roof was the hardest part of ours if you don't include the base.
Because our shed is 8X6, it needed OH and myself at either end and so ,2 ladders.
Everything else could have been done by one or other of us single handed.
