Auto-decline for stupid "best offers"?

We currently have a Gateway laptop up for sale on ebay for £650 or "Best Offer", but we are getting sick of morons sending offers for £150 etc!
Is there any way to set it to auto-decline offers under a certain amount to avoid wasting time replying to idiots who offer stupidly low amounts??
Thanks

Yes they expire after a certain period of time but i feel it would be better to decline the offer immediately, therefore they might be inclinded to resubmit a more sensible offer...
And yes, morons is quite apt in some cases (i.e the person who offered 29p!) lol0 -

Buyers can only send one offer - if you reject this they cannot place another. The best thing is to just ignore it - if they are offering ridiculous amounts then they are not serious about buying it anyway. If they have an offer open you have not responded to they can do a Buy it Now instead.
I get loads of silly offers, sometimes it is handy if I have had something knocking around for ages and I can get rid of it for cost but otherwise people just make daft offers on te stuff at time and I often think we need a 'are you taking the p***' button. Don't let it deter you though, it keeps you one step ahead of the competition.0 -
It depends on the category. Some categories allow more than one offer.blue_monkey wrote:Buyers can only send one offer - if you reject this they cannot place another.
Great idea! We could definitely use one of those. I'd use it for the twit who offered 50p for a £6.99 item. That offer wouldn't even have covered my eBay fees.I get loads of silly offers, sometimes it is handy if I have had something knocking around for ages and I can get rid of it for cost but otherwise people just make daft offers on te stuff at time and I often think we need a 'are you taking the p***' button.0 -
That's a little harsh. I've had insane offers ranging from 1p to £1 for £50 listings and you know what I do.......decline their offers and get on with my life!!cracker1979 wrote:yes you have just confirmed you are an idiotThird time lucky on WW I hope :j

Yes, you can set a percentage or limit under which the Best Offer is auto rejected - at least on ebay.com (I'm not sure about ebay.co.uk). Best Offers will expire after 48 hours or at end of auction whichever comes first. If you list on ebay.com, then you can respond with a counter offer to buyers that have made offers that approach your minimum sale price.
A good Best Offer sales technique is to slightly inflate your initial fixed price. This way you can drop your sales price so as to appear to meet your buyer mid-way so they feel like they are getting a 'deal'. (Estate agents use a similar sales technique when a listing isn't selling.)cracker1979 wrote:Yes they expire after a certain period of time but i feel it would be better to decline the offer immediately, therefore they might be inclinded to resubmit a more sensible offer...
Actually in most categories buyers can only make one Best Offer.
