DLA Claim Form

My claim for DLA is ending this August so they have sent me a claim form.

When I last claimed in 2009 I completed the form online on the site below:

http://www.dwp.gov.uk/eservice/#

I logged into the site with my previous details and it will allow to submit an online claim however the form on the site is not exactly the same as I have been sent in post which is called 'DLA1A Adult October 2011'.

Does anyone know if you can still submit DLA claims online or do you have to fill in the paper form? I find it easier to type than to write so I was hoping to fill it out on a computer.

Hi, I completed mine on line about 2 months ago. It was accepted on the day I completed and sent it to them. I was told (but not sure if it's true) that you get a quicker response when you do it online.

Thanks, was yours a new claim or were you already in receipt of DLA which was coming to an end so needed to re-submit the forms like I do?

On line it is the normal claim form. The one you have is the renewal form. There is very little difference between the two, and whilst the on line version goes into a little more detail, there is nothing stopping you using it for the renewal.

In fact, you will be able to explain in more detail about your needs if you use the on line form.
