might throw some light but surely you have scheme booklets showing your pension benefits?0 -
Look for Death in Service.
You won't get anything but your family will.0 -

I'm not sure about the Armed forces but I think that in the Civil Service Pension Scheme you had to opt in (and pay extra) for the WCPS - Widows and Children Pension Service.
Do you remember doing that?
I'm not sure if the rules were changed to include non-contributory widow's pension at a later stage.
As already advised, your best bet is to contact the relevant pension scemes.
It shouldn't be hard to find out the contact details as they are not exactly small 'companies'.
You should have your pension numbers, do you have any letters from the Pension Schemes with their address on them?0 -
Thanks for all the advice.
One of my neighbours works for Citizens Advice . Recon I'll put him on the trail.0 -

I get 4 pensions all from different places. So not so easy to coordinate.0

eh? what's hard about that?
HOWEVER... with 45 years work history which stopped 13 years ago, I reckon you are around 75, I do realise this stuff can be daunting as one gets older. Can you get a family member or friend to help you contact the pension schemes - a phone call or email should suffice. The questions that get the best answers are the questions that give most detail....0
