First Telecom not taking new customers?

Have just renegotiated my package with Virgin and added a phone line as it was cheaper to have their phone line to go with my existing BB and TV than to have them on their own. Anyway, I thought I would try and avoid their extortionate call charges by registering with First Telecom for their Cable Saver package which includes a dialler box to reroute the calls over their network. I was informed by their call centre that they are not currently taking new customers due to system upgrades and that it would be at least 3 months before they could activate new accounts. Has anyone else had similar difficulties and are there any alternatives where a dialler box is provided?

You could use http://www.18185.co.uk/mobilerates.php via their 0808 freephone access number for cheaper calls, when calls on Virgin are not inclusive.Diy job no box but you could pre programme number into your phone.
It looks like Orchid Telecom still sell smart boxes that you could use in conjunction with this service http://www.smallbusinesstelephonesystemsuk.co.uk/business_cpsdiallers.html0
