Can I be nosey and ask why you don't want a wheelchair?
We were very against the idea at first (son is 7 and needs one now not for his cerebral palsy but for tiredness and pain due to a kidney condition) but after you get over the initial 'my child is in a wheelchair', it is a lot easier to push than any pushchair I've had. We have the invacare junior 3 with large self-propelling wheels because they are easier to get up and down kerbs.
It stows away about the same size as a pushchair allbeit a different shape.
Or is it just because they don't have a raincover? I admit I'm looking for a poncho for him because it is a bit miserable sitting getting soaked.0 -

I know you're asking the other poster, but in our case it's simple - he had a wheelchair & I couldn't lift/fold to store it (we lived in a first floor flat until 3 years ago), I find the Major Buggy is so much easier to put away
People were much more polite when he was in a wheelchair though, probably because they realised he was ill. Now - occasionally - you'll hear people whispering about him being in a 'buggy' - they clearly don't recognise it as a disability aid & just think he's a really lazy 12 year old :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:Quid quid latine dictum sit, altum videtur0 -

Mine stays in the car, actually all the childrens prams/buggies have stayed in the car so I didn't think of that one!
I didn't want to mention the attitude of others, but yes, you do get far more help when they are in a wheelchair than 'just' in a buggy, people will hold open doors, move aside, not feel the need to comment on the childs behaivour...
You need one of those big flashing signs for when you go out, you know the ones that say '!!!!!! you ignorant twit' lol:rotfl:0 -

It wouldn't be so bad if he was wee for his age and you could mistake him for a big toddler, but he's massive :rotfl: Most of the kids at his school are tiny due to their conditions, my boy is 5'7 and has a BMI of 22 - well within healthy limits but he's properly sturdy (he's a hullock as we say in scotland :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:)Quid quid latine dictum sit, altum videtur0 -
